Built over 200 years ago and located near the 500-year-old Deal Castle in Kent, Admiralty Mews consists of 40 individual units. Previously known as East Barracks, the property was home to the Royal Marines School of Music before being sold and redeveloped over 20 years ago into residential housing.
The Admiralty Mews project included a renovation of the existing kitchen, living space and hallway which featured new cabinetry, flooring and a fresh colour palette. The spacious and open-plan 37 sqm space includes a kitchen, dining and seating area so the new flooring needed to create a seamless finish to run throughout.
After being recommended by a friend, the homeowners visited the Havwoods showroom in Clerkenwell to discuss their options with the team and take samples home to test with their new colour scheme.
Havwoods’ Borghi Character 242mm 1-Strip boards from the Venture Plank collection was chosen to replace the cold floor tiles and add warmth and texture to the home. The soft undertones and natural beauty of the grain perfectly complement the all-white kitchen and light grey walls, without taking the attention away from the high ceilings and large windows.
The same planks were continued into the hallway and onto the staircase to complete the refurbishment, all finished with a scotia trim.
