Originally launched in Amsterdam over 40 years ago, Gauchos came to London in 1994 and soon became known for award-winning Argentinian steak and cool cowhide decor. Rather than a utilising a design format throughout every restaurant, the creative team aims for a different scheme but with the same inimitable character. Of course specifying such a dark wood floor in a high-footfall environment calls for a particularly tough solution, so at Havwoods we suggested a highly smoked plank, where colour permeates deep below the surface, finished with a UV cured Hardwax Oil.
