Proving that Havwoods timber is tough enough even for the fast food restaurant business, this Oporto, located in the iconic Gateway Plaza on Macquarie Place in Sydney, uses a combination of Havwoods Europlank and Relik products.
Oporto was founded in 1986 by an Australian of Portugese descent. With the success of its fresh-not-frozen, grilled-not-fried chicken with a chilli kick concept, the company opened its first franchise in 1995 and was named the fastest growing franchise in Australia just ten years later. Now they also have restaurants in New Zealand, the USA and the UK, as well as throughout Australia, although the greatest concentrations is still to be found in New South Wales.
