Bedrock Design have been applying the Caffé Nero brand since 1997 and have watched them grow from just four stores to over 350. The coffee company is well known for reflecting the ethos of the local community in its stores so, when refurbishing a former coffee shop in London’s Oxo Tower, both they and the landlords were adamant in wanting a shop which really fitted its surroundings: the landlords wanted something new and exciting and Nero were keen to trial an urban concept. The overriding criteria was a shortage of time – just seven weeks from brief to opening!
The resulting Caffé Nero is an urban-look premises which truly reflects its South Bank location. Many of the materials are reclaimed, including the bricks and Metro tiles, and, of course, the floor which is Henley Reclaimed Dock Oak from Havwoods. Although genuine reclaimed timber this range has been crafted into T&G, ends matched engineered planks which combine the random widths and true individuality of genuine reclaimed wood with the practicality of easy to fit engineered planks -consistency from batch to batch and reserves held in stock for matching.
