Described by Wallpaper as ‘one of the best restaurant and hotel designers of his generation’, MBDS created a fresh, fun and authentic aesthetic, with lime green marble, yellow herringbone ceramic tiles and a reclaimed barn oak chevron floor.
Whilst Paris may be known for great food, it’s really not known for great Italian food. But if you’re in the vicinity of the 11th Arrondissement, Tigrane Seydoux and Victor Lugger, the entrepreneurs behind Big Mamma, have filled a gap.
A casual-dining restaurant inspired by the trattorias of Italy, where good food made with great Italian produce is available at reasonable prices, East Mamma is designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. Described by Wallpaper as ‘one of the best restaurant and hotel designers of his generation’, and long associated with Jamie’s Italian (they’ve created more than twenty of them) as well as more formal eateries like The Ivy (both London and Dubai), Oro in Abu Dhabi and Le Caprice in New York, MBDS created a fresh, fun and authentic aesthetic, with lime green marble, yellow herringbone ceramic tiles and a reclaimed barn oak chevron floor. With multiple bars and a central dining area, the focal point is a raised kitchen and open, hand-built pizza oven from Acunto in Naples, whilst a copper gantry displays fresh produce from wheels of parmigiano to barrels of olive oil
