As part of the challenging project of repositioning Sydney’s Four Seasons as the principal hotel in the city, Dreamtime, the award-winning Australian design company, were tasked with creating a complete floor of meeting and function rooms.
Comprising of a public atrium pre-function and break-out space with bars, eight multi-configuration function rooms and the bespoke Residential Suite pictured here, the uniting factor was a brief to create a ‘residential’, non-hotel style to encourage local patrons to embrace the new meeting venue.
Refraining from the temptation to be trendy, the result is warm and comfortable, albeit highly creative. Shelving contains collections of modern ceramics, porcelain and stoneware from leading luminaries; walls feature timber cladding and oil paintings by some of Australia’s most renowned artists; seating is comfortable with custom designed, luxurious timber tables replacing the customary tablecloth-clad folding variety. Havwoods Versailles panels were chosen for the floor to reinforce the high-class residential styling.
