This beautiful residential villa in Portugal recently underwent an extensive refurbishment and extension to modernise it and bring it up to date with today’s exacting standards, whilst staying true to its cultural heritage. Built in the 1950s, the villa was constructed in typical Portuguese style, so it was important to maintain its original and distinctive look, whilst also creating something completely special and unique.
The design brief was to create five en-suite bedrooms, with two large master suites, along with a maid’s room, a separate ground floor for entertaining, a new garage, a BBQ and a terrace elsewhere in the home.
Havwoods was selected as the perfect supplier for this prestigious project, with its offering of luxurious wood floorboards. The Hugo board was chosen from the Venture Plank collection, for a dramatically dark look that was guaranteed to make a stunning impact. Engineered from European Oak, the floorboard provides an outstanding finish within the villa – made all the more eye-catching through the exciting and unique pattern that the designer has created with the way in which each board has been laid.
Now, the villa offers understated and subtle luxury, with an exceptionally elegant and sumptuous finish – a look that is undeniably modern, but will remain sophisticated for years to come.
