Iconic American clothing brand, Levi Strauss & Co. is recognised worldwide for the invention of the first blue jean back in 1873 and the subsequent introduction of this modern fashion staple into popular culture.
With the design of the new company’s London HQ came a unique brief: to bring together dynamic office and showcase space, alongside a variety of creative areas including a state of the art music studio, Hauss of Strass premium area and the all-important ‘Lot 1’ room, responsible for the creation of customised denim products.
The design brief was simple: to update the brand’s ‘old-school’ plywood look to reflect a more contemporary manifestation of the Levi’s UK identity.
When it came to specifying the flooring, durability and design were at the forefront of the brand’s requirements; the showcase areas and music studio play host to exclusive events and needed to be durable to bear the heavy footfall.
Opting for Havwoods’ herringbone flooring with a unique dark finish brought character and interest to the individual spaces, whilst the engineered plank constructed guaranteed a durable and hardwearing underfoot surface.
