Paul Ackling of Peninsula Homes has kindly shared with us an article on a home fit out for which he was able to flex his creativity and specified Havwoods Genuine Reclaimed Barn Oak.
“With each one of our homes being a one-off design, the specification of each can allow us the use of interesting materials. It is this part of the design process that we enjoy with our clients. Collaborating on the most exciting way to incorporate these unique and creative finishes.
A client in North Curl Curl had a love of industrial and reclaimed products. This saw the inclusion, in their home, of polished concrete floors, reclaimed bricks and rusting coreten steel. To compliment all of these industrial features, we specified Havwoods Genuine Reclaimed Barn Oak Engineered timber in a number of key areas. The use of the timber, whilst providing striking features, also gave the home warmth it needed to compliment the industrial feel. The grandest of these features was a 2.4m wide barn style sliding door that allowed the closure of the formal lounge area, whilst adding a striking feature to the homes entry foyer.
Working with a quality engineered product allowed the end result to exceed even our own high expectations. It has also given our clients the timeless and authentic looking home that will be enjoyed for years to come.”
