A privately owned five-star boutique venue, it has recently undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment under the auspices of Kinnersley Kent Design.
Under Rank Organisation ownership during the 1970s and 80s, it was reported that more movie stars could be seen at the London Athenaeum than in the Polo Lounge of the Beverley Hills Hotel. Now a privately owned five-star boutique venue, it has recently undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment under the auspices of Kinnersley Kent Design.
KKD developed an “authentic deco” aesthetic, referencing the modernist style of the original 1930s building and giving it a new bronze facade. the lobby has been opened up and features a rich, understated yet indulgent materials palette, with a dark smoked HW063 solid oak herringbone floor, and an eclectic mix of classic and contemporary British and european furniture so that the Art Deco roots enjoy a contemporary sensibility. the new brand ethos, “stay individual” is brought to life at every touch point and across all branding materials.
