At Havwoods, we're on an innovative mission to introduce new and exciting product concepts to see what’s possible in the world of wood. For the Winter/Spring edition of our WoodBook catalog, we spotlight three unique concepts that could be the next big thing in flooring.
Truly sustainable use of timber in terrazzo
Timber has always offered a sustainable solution for interior design and construction. What if we took it a step further and used the wood waste to create something truly unique and equally exquisite? Timber terrazzo by Foresso® uses shards of discarded timber to expertly and consistently set into a 0% VOC resin binder to form this one-of-a-kind material.
Made in Britain, and utilizing a minimum of 65% waste material, timber terrazzo brings an amazing new take on wood flooring choices. Available in both plank and tile format, these pre-finished products are easy to install and can be adjusted on site like any other wood flooring product.
Douglas Fir is functional for more than Christmas trees
This evergreen conifer is one the most abundant and hard-wearing softwood. Its natural beauty is emphasized during a time-worn process which draws out the color in the grain, offering a truly stunning Scandinavian style flooring option.
Sometimes size is everything
Ever wondered what the limits are for engineered wood flooring? Well at Havwoods, there are no limits. Take a look at these colossal boards, dimensions up to 23 1/2 inches wide and up to a mammoth 46 feet in length, these truly are breathtaking. Sawn from the entire length of a tree trunk, these truly spectacular planks can offer wall-to-wall flooring with no end joints. The 4mm top layer of European Oak is secured to a 9/12mm core with a further 4mm balancing layer beneath.
