In deep ship set for launch

28 Oct 2021

After much preparation and training over the past months the In Deep Ship team is ready to embrace the challenge of rowing across the Atlantic Ocean. The Talisker Whisky challenge has been described as ‘the world’s toughest row’ as the team will be facing sleep deprivation, salt sores, physical extremes, 20 ft waves, and up to 50 days in the sea confined into small space.

‘It has been a busy few weeks as we have been packing our food and equipment and preparing our boat for shipping to the start line. Our boat is being shipped out this week and we will fly to the start line on 29th November. The race itself starts on the 12th December, says Lauren Hunt, Senior Architect from Formation Architects.

‘We spent a final day on the water as a team in Cardiff Bay and Penarth Marina last weekend before our boat shipping. The weather was on our side and we got some great shots of us out in the bay’.

Havwoods is proud to be supporting the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge and we are excitedly waiting for the start of the competition. We are cheering the In Deep Ship team on as they embrace this tough challenge while raising money for three charities: Crisis, Covenant House and Anthony Nolan.
