The renovation of this four bedroom family home called for durable materials to suit a home for older teenagers and entertaining, and the requirement to work with elements that could not be changed including a beautiful dark slate entrance.
Located in the enviable Sydney suburb of Killara, this home underwent a stunning renovation, to transform dated and dreary interiors into durable and sophisticated charm.
The owners desired a home to suit their teenage children, along with their love of entertaining on a regular basis. This called for careful and considered material selection to ensure longevity and low maintenance. The brief also called for impactful spaces that would create "moments to be celebrated".
The original home features a dark slate entrance that was unable to be changed, and so careful consideration was given to flooring selection to ensure it would compliment the beautiful dark slate.
Havwoods HW9554 Abrego was selected for its rich, dark chocolatey tones and for its unparalleled durability qualities.
The Abrego dark wood flooring delivered a beautiful base tone that complimented the slate entranceway perfectly and allowed for a dramatic color palette provided in the use of contrasting colors in the joinery, upholstery and curtains.
