A mountain retreat that blends refined design with nature, Lone Rock Retreat showcases Cubara from our Venture Plank collection throughout its interiors.

Lone Rock Retreat is a 20,000 square foot lodge designed by OZ Architecture for the Lone Rock Foundation, a nonprofit philanthropic organization based in Santa Cruz, California, dedicated to supporting the public nonprofit education ecosystem throughout the United States. Set within the dramatic natural landscape of Bailey, Colorado, the retreat serves as a multifunctional sanctuary for learning, connection, and inspiration.

The interior features a sophisticated, multi-zone design that balances elegance with an energetic atmosphere. Strategic lighting brings the rich material palette to life, highlighting natural textures while shaping distinct environments throughout the expansive lodge. Floor to ceiling windows frame panoramic mountain views and infuse each space with natural light, creating harmony between the interior experience and the surrounding landscape.

Our Cubara (HW9566) serves as the unifying material throughout the retreat. Cubara is a rustic smokey gray plank from the Venture Plank collection, our premium high-performance engineered hardwood flooring range. Its expressive grain and soft gray tone add depth and character while delivering the durability required for a high-traffic, multi-use hospitality environment.

From the lounge and dining areas to quiet reflection zones, Lone Rock Retreat blends organic style with refined craftsmanship, resulting in an environment designed to inspire the people and programs it supports.
