Set within the Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis, Mara Restaurant and Bar offers a refined yet restorative take on Mediterranean-inspired dining. Designed by award-winning interior design firm AvroKO, the space is conceived as a warm, sunlit retreat that balances understated luxury with an inviting sense of ease. An open kitchen anchors the experience, encouraging connection between guests, chefs, and the craft of cooking.
Natural materials and tactile finishes define the interior palette. Rich, warm woods are paired with soft fabrics, plush banquettes, and intricate detailing to create a layered, welcoming atmosphere that feels both contemporary and timeless. Light moves fluidly through the restaurant, highlighting textures and surfaces while reinforcing Mara’s relaxed, hospitality-driven ethos.
Havwoods flooring appears throughout the restaurant, playing a key role in grounding the design. The main dining area features Hartland planks (BPF13/1616/180) from the Henley collection, selected for its cocoa-toned hue and beautifully textured surface. The warmth of the wood complements the Mediterranean influence while providing durability suited to a high-traffic hospitality environment.
In the bar area, a custom Versailles Coffee pattern, also from the Henley collection, was specified to introduce visual rhythm and a sense of craft. Finished in a rich brunette tone, the bespoke layout adds depth and character, subtly distinguishing the bar from the dining spaces while maintaining a cohesive material story throughout.
The result is a restaurant and bar that feels both elevated and approachable. Through thoughtful material selection and custom flooring solutions, Mara delivers an immersive dining environment that reflects AvroKO’s design vision and the Four Seasons commitment to refined, experiential hospitality.
