Pacific Lake Offices, Boston

Located in the affluent Back Bay district of Boston, MA, Pacific Lake Partners required an office space that rebelled against the traditionally corporate building it resided within. The brief was appointed to VC Arch, a multi-service agency specialising in workplace design and performance, with the set task of transforming the space into a contemporary and functional environment.

VC Arch appointed Havwoods as the supplier of the flooring throughout, opting for the dramatic tones of our Conquest engineered oak timber flooring from the Venture Plank range. Wear and tear was a key concern for the client, as is the case for most high-footfall commercial spaces, but they also wanted the aesthetic of a dark charcoal-coloured floor; the two often aren’t compatible. Taking these requirements into consideration, we specified a product that catered to both; a hardwearing, engineered board characterised by deep brown tones, and treated with a smoked finish. This process allows the colour to permeate through the plank, eradicating any variation in colour with the raw wood beneath, so any scrapes or dents that occur are easily disguised.
