At San Francisco’s dynamic Mission Rock development, Tishman Speyer has reimagined the future of flexible working. Set within two residential towers that opened in 2024, the co-working and amenity spaces were designed by Michaelis Boyd to support focus, movement, and connection in equal measure.
Havwoods was selected to supply flooring that would complement the architectural vision while meeting the demands of a high traffic commercial environment. The result is a series of restorative public spaces defined by refined Italian design, enduring performance, and responsible material sourcing.
Designing a contemporary workplace
Designed for Focus, Movement and Connection
Mission Rock’s co working spaces blend hospitality inspired comfort with the functionality of a contemporary workplace. Lounge areas, meeting rooms, and communal settings are layered with warm textures, natural light, and curated materials that encourage both productivity and pause.
Expansive glazing frames views across the city, while thoughtfully zoned interiors create intimate corners for quiet concentration alongside open areas that foster collaboration. The flooring plays a central role in grounding these spaces, adding rhythm and warmth beneath sculptural furnishings and soft textiles.
The Italian Collection in Action
For the public areas, Havwoods supplied two distinctive designs from the Italian Collection: Columba (HW16009P) and Bronzo (HW16606P).
Columba herringbone introduces a classic geometric pattern in a platinum tone, bringing subtle movement and visual interest to communal areas. Bronzo chevron offers a warmer tonal depth, its directional pattern guiding flow through shared spaces and corridors. The sharp angles of the chevron design echo the clean lines of the surrounding architecture, reinforcing a sense of cohesion and intentionality.
Both products are FSC® Certified Timber (FSC-C009500), supporting a sustainably sourced workspace design and ensuring that environmental responsibility sits alongside performance and aesthetics.
