BDG architecture + design and Staffan Tollgard reimagine the contact centre environment, placing Havwoods’ Derwent Oak flooring at the heart of a vibrant, human-centred workplace.

Workplace with Havwoods Flooring

A Workplace with a Pulse

Located in Bristol’s vibrant Temple Meads district, the new regional contact centre for technology company Dojo reflects a radical departure from conventional workplace design. BDG architecture + design was tasked with creating a space that could attract top talent, foster innovation, and support a fast-growing workforce of over 400 employees.

Drawing on the city’s rich culture and artistic legacy, the workplace features graffiti by celebrated local artists. Every element of the two-floor space has been considered to support employee wellbeing and dynamic workflows.

Warmth and Character

At the heart of the scheme is the use of Havwoods’ BP2522 Derwent Oak Heavy Sawn flooring, which runs throughout the interiors. Its richly textured surface, with visible saw marks and warm tones, provides a crafted, residential feel that aligns seamlessly with the interior concept developed by Staffan Tollgard of Tollgard Studio.

Designing for Experience

The result is a workspace that defies expectation: part-office, part-home, and entirely human-centred. With materials and furnishings selected for their qualities and longevity, the design delivers comfort without compromising performance. Rounded furniture, elements, and a calming colour palette are all lifted by the natural warmth of Havwoods’ flooring.

"By combining comfort, community, and creativity, we’ve crafted a workplace that goes beyond functionality to enhance employee well-being and engagement."
