An incredibly light and welcoming home, this Victorian property in south London has undergone a major transformation. From the new ground floor extension to the cohesive, contemporary colour palette that runs throughout, the result is a bright and airy home that is perfect for modern living.

Known for their FSC-certified timber flooring in an array of colours, materials and designs, two different Havwoods products were chosen. The Pallida Prime Chevron and Select boards have been installed in the loft studio on the top floor of the property, including the bedroom and hallway.

The warmth of the wood perfectly enhances the monochrome colour palette and minimalist décor, working in harmony with the abundance of texture in the form of black panelled walls, bouclé headboard and tactile throws and pillowsThe Chevron boards, light grey walls and black detailing carry through into the hallway and onto the staircase, creating a cohesive flow between the rooms.

The herringbone plank was one of the smallest we could find on the market, and we loved its proportions. The chevron flooring was also very unique. Most importantly we were able to use 3 different products and ensure they matched in finish/colour appearance by sourcing them from the same supplier.”

The natural light throughout the property is a statement feature of the home. From the floor to ceiling windows in the bedroom to the glass roof of the ground floor extension, the varied tones and textures of Havwoods’ flooring are brought to life. In the living room, the homeowner continued the honey tones of the flooring with a bespoke herringbone design from Havwoods. Natural materials remain centre stage in the overall design as the wood floor pairs perfectly with the bouclé cloud-like sofas and matching wall colour and accessories – resulting in a clean, crisp living space.
