Based in Kew, South West London, this project by architects Lifesize Architecture was an entire home rebuild which involved demolishing an old bungalow and building a new house in its place.

Designed as a contemporary take on a Georgian-style building, the objective for the homeowners was create a comfortable living space, created with modern features and interior design to complement the exterior.

Well-designed brickwork, in both pattern and build, coupled with high levels of strategically placed glazing, has resulted in a stunning front and rear elevation to the property that marries traditional and modern elements seamlessly.

The homeowners’ opted for Havwoods’ Notte 120mm Plank flooring for the upstairs and Notte Herringbone boards for the ground floor to help differentiate the two spaces, whilst remaining cohesive. The rich, chocolate boards evoke a sense of warmth and cosiness set against a cooler, neutral colour scheme that runs throughout the home.

The on-trend herringbone flooring has been installed through the spacious open-plan kitchen/diner and living room. The natural, varied tones of the wood reflect the light beautifully from the large skylights and floor to ceiling windows. The warm undertones look stunning alongside the dark grey cabinetry, with industrial features such as the exposed brick walls and bold pendant lights creating stunning focal points.

Upstairs, the Notte 1-Strip boards begin on the impressive landing, paired with a striking feature window and an artistic light installation that travels up the staircase. The flooring continues into the master bedroom and children’s rooms, paired with an array of bright colours to separate each space.
