A high-end and exclusive development of four sustainable properties in the Berkshire countryside, New Lodge Farm has been constructed by a private developer client who only carries out select developments on exemplar nature.
The context of the existing site, which is comprised of a series of outbuildings and a farmhouse, informed the design and layout of the new dwellings – resulting in a new farmhouse and three modern barns located around it.
The modern buildings feature larch cladding to the facades, standing seam zinc roofing, expansive minimal frame glazing – and each one has been constructed using Cross Laminated Timver (CLT) which is externally insulated and internally lined using a Fermacell board.
For the interior of all four units, Havwoods multi-layered engineered Blanco Character 180mm 1-Strip boards have been commissioned to pair with the neutral, pared-back design scheme. Adding important texture that creates a cohesive feeling throughout all spaces, the soft finish and platinum colourway complement the other finishes featured in the dwellings – including a Bulthaup Kitchen, Minoli tiles and high-end sanitaryware from Kallums.
