What began as a simple refurbishment quickly expanded into a full renovation, extension, and landscaping project. Architect Paul Duffy of BetterPAD led the transformation of this rural West Sussex cottage into something truly special. “It evolved to become this genuinely amazing project,” he says.
Designing with Sensitivity
Located in the South Downs National Park, the home had to meet strict planning rules. The design balances clean, modern lines with natural materials like timber and stone, blending seamlessly into the landscape. Foundations were specially engineered to protect local trees and manage unstable ground near a river.
