Balancing the harmony between old and new with Versailles
Set within a beautifully restored Edwardian home, The Old Rectory demonstrates how carefully selected timber flooring can help bridge the gap between period architecture and contemporary family living.
In the dining room, the introduction of Antique Versailles, from our beautiful Henley collection collection creates a focal point within the space, introducing texture, craftsmanship and a sense of occasion. Set against the simplicity of the Portland plank flooring used elsewhere, the Versailles design provides contrast while remaining sympathetic to the heritage of the property.

Two complementary wood flooring styles throughout the home
Our popular Portland plank wood flooring was used throughout the hallways, landings, bedrooms and bathroom, creating a seamless sense of flow across the home. With its warm, earth-toned palette, Portland showcases the natural grain of the wood while bringing a welcoming and comfortable feel to each space. In the bathroom, Portland's smooth finish and rustic character complement the modern fixtures beautifully. The timber flooring has also been expertly installed around the freestanding bath, creating a practical zone designed to withstand everyday splashes while maintaining the room's cohesive aesthetic.
Together, the two flooring styles create a harmonious balance between old and new. Portland planks deliver a sense of openness and continuity, while the traditional Antique Versailles pattern celebrates the craftsmanship and architectural heritage associated with period homes.

This luxury wood flooring offers a sense of spaciousness, its natural grain and subtle knots enhancing the rustic feel, while its warm tones harmonise with the home's original features like high ceilings, ornate mouldings, and large sash windows.
