Celebrating fifty years of Wood that Works
If you’ve been to a Havwoods event over the last 10 years, there’s a good chance you’ll have seen, or even spent time on, our iconic converted Routemaster bus.
Quintessentially British, instantly recognisable and beautifully engineered, the red Routemaster bus has long been celebrated as a symbol of London’s rich heritage. As a meaningful part of our own story, the Havwoods ‘big red bus’ spent years touring the UK as a mobile showroom, introducing our luxury wood surfaces to new audiences and inspiring generations of designers to explore the possibilities of wood.
Now happily retired to our Head Office in Lancashire, the Havwoods ‘big red bus’ remains a cherished part of our heritage and an important chapter in the Havwoods story over the last fifty years.
As we look ahead, we’re excited to steer our iconic bus towards its next adventure, and you can get involved by entering our competition to win your own LEGO Routemaster.

Affectionately considered an honorary member of our Marketing team since 2015, the Havwoods bus became a regular favourite at numerous design festivals, events and expos across the UK and beyond. It was used to delivered CPDs to hundreds of delegates, appeared at an impressive eight Clerkenwell Design Weeks, showcased an ever-changing selection of Havwoods products, and served over 10,000 cups of coffee – earning a reputation as the place to find the ‘best coffee at CDW’.
Our big red bus competition terms and conditions:
The 'big red bus' competition is open to UK residents aged 18 or over.
Only one entry per person is permitted.
The 'big red bus' competition opens on 4th January 2026 and closes at midnight on 2nd March 2026. Entries received after the closing date will not be accepted.
The prizes are fifty mini LEGO Routemaster buses or one of two Limited Edition LEGO Creator London Buses. The prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and no cash alternative is available. Havwoods reserves the right to substitute the prize with an alternative of equal or greater value if necessary.
The winners of the 'big red bus' competition will be selected at random from all valid entries received.
Winners will be notified by within 10 days of the closing date via email. If a winner does not respond within 10 days, Havwoods reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
Personal data supplied during the course of this competition will only be processed in accordance with Havwoods’ Privacy Policy and will be used solely for the administration of the competition. Data will not be shared with third parties unrelated to the promotion.
