DAY 1
Ros Lambert-Porter joined us for two sessions to learn about good acoustic design in space and the role of flooring in acoustics. The highly informative presentation gave some great tips of how to manage noise within a design and also talked extensively about the role material choice can make.

Havwoods Clerkenwell also welcomed Marco Carini and José Pedroso who joined us to share their passion for Cork. In this highly fascinating session visitors learnt about the sustainable journey of cork, its extraction, characteristics and properties.

DAY 2
Havwoods' very own Darren Mayes joined us to deliver a compelling presentation on Sustaining Our Future. focusing upon the drive to stop, or to slow down, the Earth’s destruction, and the challenges surrounding the global timber trade.
It was also a full-house in Great Sutton Street when Gavin Hughes, Design Director from HLW delivered his Contradictory ramblings of a Designer. Pondering upon what it is ‘to design’, this engaging and excitable talk was enthusiastically well received by all in attendance.
DAY 3
As our focus upon useful and informative talks continued, Greg Elliott, Havwoods' Head of Technical delivered a refreshing talk on the timber life-cycle including a quick guide to looking after and maintaining a floor to extend it's life of beauty.
Our final guest speaker for the week, Andrew Moore from Hilson Moran delivered an engaging talk on Timber in Design: Certification and Carbon. He highlighted that although Timber is seen as a sustainable material in the built environment, he posed the question of how can we evaluate and prove it meets its sustainable objectives.
Hop on board for a coffee and pastry!
Throughout the whole three days, Havwoods' sought to get everyone's Clerkenwell Design Week journey off to the best possible start with our famous Havwoods Routemaster bus parked up in St John's Square. Hundreds of visitors a day took the opportunity to hop on board and indulge in a freshly made coffee and of course a cheeky pastry to go with it.

Bubbles at Design Fields
Towards the north of Clerkenwell Design Week route sits the Design Fields exhibition. Havwoods was on hand with it's gorgeous little Prosecco van to add a little fizz to proceedings. Beautiful weather throughout all three days meant that customers were out in full and it was our pleasure to help you celebrate design here in London.
