Produced in Europe these hardwood engineered boards are amongst the very best in the world. On the 20mm planks a 6mm lamella of European oak is bonded under no less than 150 tonnes of pressure to a backing of birch ply. For superior strength this is made of an odd number of layers of thin strips of birch, laid in alternating directions and glued with a WBP glue, which means that it won’t delaminate even in the unlikely event that it was boiled in water for several hours! The moisture content of both layers is well controlled and finely balanced, machining standards are exceptional and they carry a lifetime structural warranty with a 25-year residential wear resistance warranty.
The 19mm products from a second superior European mill also carry a 25 year residential warranty. These pre-finished boards utilise a triple-layered construction comprising of a minimum 4mm oak lamella bonded to a layer of solid birch or alder and with a birch or alder ply base.
Consistent quality is maintained by keeping all processes in house and the finishes are of particular interest, especially those of the thermally treated (fired) boards. This ecologically sound treatment process uses no chemical additivesto to produce a dark timber with the colour running throughout the lamella, offering a genuinely viable alternative to tropical hardwoods. Furthermore, the process reduces the moisture content, increasing water and decay resistance, and can increase stability by more than 50%. All Venture Plank products are suitable for use over underfloor heating (conditions do apply, contact us for more information).
