Peking Square is a novel approach to Asian dining in Sydney. The atmosphere is alive, electric and colourful, with multiple finishes and features on the floor, walls and ceilings.

The design brief was to create an individual look and a cool, casual atmosphere which would stand out from the crowd; it also had to be truly inviting: beautiful without being intimidating. 

We sometimes think that the casual dining chain Nando’s are as passionate about wood as we are. In many countries their design ethos is one of individuality, yet despite each restaurant’s unique appearance the imaginative use of timber is a frequent characteristic.

The concept included an imposing three-story atrium using polished concrete, polished black stucco, there-colour aged paster and wood, punctuated by fully grown trees and a collection of live reptiles!

In this apartment the footprint was redesigned and a calm palette chosen: warm greys with raw steel, recycled oak – Havwoods, of course – natural stones and handmade tiles. 

Combining Reclaimed Barn Oak from the Havwoods Relik collection with concrete, this modern rustic BBQ Smokehouse has that authentic feel. 

If you want something truly unique and full of character for your project, you can’t go past timber. Being a natural product, no plank is ever the same. The Potting Shed is a spacious architect-designed expression of total freedom that invites customers to have a special time in a beautifully curated environment.

This independent burger bar is reviewed as often for its decor as it is for its food, and rightly so. The large, open, two-storey space with its stunning galleried stairway appears solid and purposeful: a celebration of natural wood, leather and iron complemented by colours that rarely venture beyond the boundaries between ochre and tar. Pride of place goes to the Havwoods reclaimed elm floor: its extremely rustic random width planks are like artwork you can walk on.

When GBK launched In 2001 it was the first establishment to elevate the humble burger from fast food to casual gourmet dining. It changed the UK burger scene forever and, despite a far more crowded marketplace, the chain now has over 60 restaurants across the UK. GBK has always treated their decor with as much respect as their burgers: here a smooth finish, dark toned plank with a rustic grade is complimented by a GBK favourite - our Reclaimed Barn Oak on feature walls.
