Set within the iconic Bondi Junction, the C20 Group Executive Suites were designed to offer something far more personal than a traditional executive office. The brief to La Vaur Studio was to create a premium workspace for the global executive team, one that reflected the client’s position in the industry, while still feeling warm, welcoming, and deeply human.
The vision for this space was to create an environment that felt more like a high-end, boutique hotel rather than a conventional and stiff corporate environment. The result is a space with polish and presence, but also comfort.
Layering materials with purpose
The strength of the design lies in the considered relationship between each of the finishes chosen for the space. The oak timber, brass inlay between timber and carpet, and the venetian plaster all work together to create a palette that feels curated, elevated and quietly expressive.
An important part of this story was Havwoods’ Hunter timber flooring, chosen in a herringbone pattern to bring warmth and movement through the interior. The pattern helps soften the commercial nature of the space, creating a more inviting, homely feel.
Detail that elevates the everyday
One of the most memorable moments in the project is the curved transition between the herringbone floor and the surrounding carpet, defined by a brass flat bar detail. A small gesture, but one that speaks to level of detail, thought and craftsmanship found through the entire fit out.
These details together create a workplace that deems calm, composed, and intentionally designed.
Designed for beauty and performance
While the brief for the space called for a warm and luxurious feel, it also must perform as a commercial office. Durability and longevity in the chosen products were essential to ensure the finishes maintain their appearance over time.
The matte finish of the Havwoods engineered timber flooring was key to achieving this balance. Visually, it supports the softness of the overall scheme, paired with the venetian plaster, timber joinery and carpet. Practically, it offers an appropriate surface solution for a high-use workplace environment, helping the floor retain its appearance through daily use.
