Here at Havwoods, we have seen straight planks laid in stunning bespoke herringbone or chevron patterns, however in this project, herringbone from our Italian Collection was utilised in a straight plank pattern in order to achieve the narrow plank look the designers were after.
Award-winning New York City based Ovadia Design had a specific look in mind for the interior of the Brooklyn branch of a family-owned vegan restaurant and juice bar – The Juice Theory. Having worked with Havwoods on a number of residential and commercial projects, Ovadia contacted our Havwoods US team looking for a cost-efficient, narrow, grey toned plank.
Our Italian Collection Oak Ardesia was the perfect solution for tone, colour and character, however to get the narrow plank design they wanted, Ovadia selected not the 120mm plank but the even narrower 70mm wide herringbone block and laid it as a plank. This enabled them to achieve the exact look they had envisaged and turn plain old walls into a stand out and unique feature.
The versatility of our Italian Collection products allowed Ovadia to achieve the look they were after using real European Oak rather than an imitation timber-look product, in order to create the dream space for their client The Juice Theory. Creating a space full of real timber delivers a connection with nature and all things organic – perfect for a family-owned vegan restaurant and juice bar shop fitout!
